True to its moniker, you’ll find numerous Hindu and Buddhist holy sites, like the Vaishno Devi Mandir, a shrine in the Trikuta Mountains that millions of pilgrims visit every year. It’s also the home of the Patnitop hill area, a celebrated attraction that tourists visit to admire and get lost in the grandeur of its lush landscapes. In the city proper, you’ll find more temples, shrines, palaces, and museums that house artifacts, artworks, and documents that chronicle the history of the land.
