Overview

Shimla is the capital of the northern Indian state of Himachal Pradesh, in the Himalayan foothills. Once the summer capital of British India, it remains the terminus of the narrow-gauge Kalka-Shimla Railway, completed in 1903. It’s also known for the handicraft shops that line The Mall, a pedestrian avenue, as well as the Lakkar Bazaar, a market specializing in wooden toys and crafts.

Sarahan is a small village in Himachal Pradesh of India. It is the site of the Bhimakali Temple, originally known as Bhimadevi Temple, dedicated to the mother goddess Bhimakali, the presiding deity of the rulers of the former Bushahr State.

Kinnaur is one of the twelve administrative districts of the state of Himachal Pradesh in northern India. The district is divided into three administrative areas – Pooh, Kalpa, and Nichar, and has six tehsils. The administrative headquarters of the district]] is at Reckong Peo.

Manali is a high-altitude Himalayan resort town in India’s northern Himachal Pradesh state. It has a reputation as a backpacking center and honeymoon destination. Set on the Beas River, it’s a gateway for skiing in the Solang Valley and trekking in Parvati Valley. It’s also a jumping-off point for paragliding, rafting, and mountaineering in the Pir Panjal mountains, home to 4,000m-high Rohtang Pass.

Day 01: Arrival Shimla

Shimla arrival and transfer to hotel. Half day local sightseeing and evening stroll around mall road and ridge of your own. overnight at hotel.

Day 02: Shimla-Sarahan

Today we will be driving towards sarahan which is famous for its bhimakali temple, dedicated to the goddess bhimakali, presiding deity of the rulers of former bushahr state. sarahan is also known as the gateway to kinnaur. overnight at hotel.

Day 03: Sarahan-Sangla

You will be travelling to one of the most beautiful valleys of himalayas, sangla valley is also known as baspa valley because of river baspa. once you enter the border of kinnaur you will be passing through beautifully engineered roads that takes you to different villages of kinnaur district. overnight at camp/hotel.

Day 04: Sangla-Kalpa

after breakfast leaves towards the last village of sangla valley, chitkul which is an hours drive from sangla. return back to sangla, and drive towards reckong peo, the headquarter of kinnaur and further few minutes drive will take you to kalpa. kalpa is a beautiful place overlooking the kinner kailash in the vicinity of famous apple garden of kinnaur. overnight at hotel.

Day 05: Kalpa-Nako

Nako is a village in the Himalayas of northern India, located near the Indo-China border nako is situated at an altitude of 12014 ft above sea level with the back drop of reo purgyal, the highest mountain in the himachal pradesh. nako is famous for its lake, guru padmasambhava has his footprints on a rock near by and is revered by buddhists all around the world. overnight at camp.

Day 06: Nako-Tabo

We will be entering spiti valley at sumdo and little further we will take the link road to gyu where you will be visiting the famous mummy of the old monk. later drive towards tabo, also known as the ajanta of the himalayas. lotsawa rinchen zangpo, the reknowned translator is said to have built this monastery. interestingly the statues are very similar to that of alchi monastery in ladakh. overnight at hotel.

Day 07:Tabo-Kaza

after breakfast you will be visiting dhankar monastery beautifully perched on a hill top over looking spiti river. today you will be going to pin valley and visit kungri monastery. pin valley national park is established in 1987 and is a natural habitat for endangered species like snow leopard and siberian ibex. we will later drive to kaza, the district headquarter of spiti valley. overnight at hotel.

Day 08: Kye-Kibber-Langza-Komic

Kye monastery is the largest monastery in spiti valley and is founded in 11th century.little further is the beautiful kibber village at the height of 4270 m. visit kibber monastery and walk around the village. kibber is also the starting or end point of famous parangla trek which connects spiti valley with ladakh. if you wish to go for a off road ride follow the link road towards tashigang and enjoy the rugged terrian of the himalayas. later drive back to kaza for a hot lunch and there after visit langza known for fossils and komic village, the highest village in asia. overnight at hotel.

Day 09: Kaza-Losar

Spend half of your day exploring the local bazaar of kaza, visit kaza monastery and later drive towards losar, the last village of spiti valley towards lahaul. overnight at hotel/cottage.

Day 10: Losar-Chandertaal lake

Situated at an altitude of 4300 m, this lake due to its crescent shape has got the name of chandra meaning moon and taal for lake ( the moon lake). we have to cross kunzom pass to reach this lake, the pass that connects spiti valley with lahaul valley. the lake is very famous amongst the trekkers and also a must visit place for the nature lovers. one can also do trek from here to suraj taal or baralachala pass. overnight at camp.

Day 11: Chandertaal-Gemur

Leaving the fresh memories of barren spiti valley we will now be travelling to the greener belt of the valley - lahaul. lahaul is comparatively more fertile and you can see lots of vegetation like potato, green peas, cauliflower, cabbages and now a days the young educated local farmers are well aware of the floriculture. you will be travelling along the chandra river till tandi, the sangam ( confluence of river bhaga and chandra) which later becomes chenab. on your way stop for some breathtaking views of sissu waterfall and gondhla fort. reach gemur by late afternoon and enjoy overnight at the camp.

Day 12: Khangsar-Khar-Gemur-Monastery-Jispa

khangsar khar is another 20 minutes drive from your campsite which is the earstwhile residence of local rulers known as thakurs. the palace has recently been renovated and is said to have 108 rooms. the palace has a small worship room ( chodkyang ) which is open to public. we will further go and visit gemur monastery, the largest in todh valley. later visit jispa, a beautiful village on the banks of river bhaga. darcha is another 5 km from jispa and is the last village of lahaul valley towards ladakh, the neighbouring district of jammu and kashmir. overnight at camp.

Day 13: Gemur-Trilokinath-Keylong

Trilokinath is the most revered temple both by tibetan buddhists and hindus.This is the only temple of Lord Shiva where Mahatma Buddha sits on the head of Trilokinath. Here Hindus worship Trilokinath as Shiva and as Buddhist Avalokiteshwara.This temple was constructed in the 10th century.according to a stone inscription found in the temple recently. you will be driving through the most fecund valley of lahaul ( pattan valley) and in approx 3 hours time you will reach trilokinath temple. further you will be visiting mrikula devi temple dedicated to goddess kali and is believed to have constructed in the 11th century. the temple was constructed from a block of wood by the pandavas during mahabharat time. return back to keylong for overnight stay.

Day 14: Keylong-Manali

After a short visit to kardang gompa, you will be driving back to manali via rohtang pass. Overnight at hotel/cottage.

Day 15: Manali to Leh

After breakfast, you will be starting on your drive to Leh. Falling on the way are attractions like Ladakh Hall of Fame, Gurudwara Pathar Sahib, and the Sangam (Confluence) view of the rivers Indus and Zanskar. Also, visit the mysterious magnetic Hill and witness vehicles moving uphill even when in neutral gear. Dinner and overnight in Leh hotel.

Day 16: Leh Local Sightseeing

After breakfast proceeds to Leh local sightseeing go into the market of Leh to shop for authentic Tibetan items. Also, visit Leh Palace. This evening, go up to the Shanti Stupa for a panoramic view of the city of Leh and to witness a mesmerizing Sunset. Dinner and overnight in Leh Hotel.

Day 17: Leh to Nubra Valley over the Khardung La top

After breakfast, start your journey to Leh through Khardung La Pass, to the mesmerizing land of Nubra Valley. Khardung La is the world's highest motorable all-weather civilian pass, at a whopping height of 18,380ft above sea level. Nubra is located in the valley between the Karakoram and Ladakh mountain ranges. Check in to your camps in Hunder. Visit the famous DiskitMonastery and get an unending view of the Nubra Valley. Also, enjoy a double-humped camel ride in the dunes of Hunder. Dinner and overnight in camps of Hunder

Day 18: Back to Leh

After a delicious breakfast in your camp, you will drive over the Khardung La pass again to go back to Leh. Check-in at your hotel in Leh and enjoy the evening at your leisure. Dinner and overnight in Leh

Day 19: Leh to Pangong Tso

Enjoy a delicious breakfast and leave Leh to visit the majestic Pangong. Tso, you will be crossing the mighty Chang La Pass (17,500ft). You will arrive at Pangong Tsoin the late afternoon, the lake which is famous for having the most beautiful setting and changes its colors 4 to 5 times a day Enjoy your evening taking ina beautiful view of the Lake amidst towering snow-capped mountains. Dinner and overnight stay at camps in Pangong.

Day 20: Pangong to Leh

After breakfast and spending a couple of hours at the banks of the beautiful lake, you will start driving back to Leh. You will be visiting the famous Hemis and Thiksey(Big Buddha) Monastery. After arriving in Leh, the rest of the evening is for you to enjoy at leisure. Dinner and overnight at hotel

Day 21: Leh Depature

After breakfast checkout from the hotel start drive Leh railway station /Airport onwards to catch onwards your flight/ bus & return to home with sweet memories of adventurous tour.
