And recent 6th August 2019 announcement by Amit Shah, Home Minister of India, “The Ladakh Division of the State of Jammu & Kashmir has a large area but is sparsely populated with very difficult terrain. There has been a long pending demand of the people of Ladakh and to give it the status of a Union Territory to enable them to realize their aspirations. The Union The territory of Ladakh will be without Legislature and Ladakh became a New Union Territory of India.

Ladakh is a mountainous region and the very coldest desert in the world.

In Ladakh, nature has rendered a magical, fantastic landscape and Most unbelievable and which is extremely breathtaking.

Ladakh lies in the north-east region of India and is surrounded by the world’s highest mountain ranges, Karakoram and Great Himalayas. The Ladakh district occupied China in the north and Kashmir in the west and Ladakh is an exotic and famous destination considered as the highest plateau lying at an altitude of 9, 800 ft. Ladakh is the 3rd province of Kashmir Valley. The population of Ladakh is about 2, 60,000 which contains a mixture of many different ethnic groups, predominantly Tibetans, Dards, Monpas, Muslims. Before 6th August 1979, the Ladakh District was divided into Leh District (mostly occupied by Tibetan Buddhist) and Kargil District (mostly occupied by Shia Muslims). But Recent Ladakh is the Union Territory state of India. And Leh is the capital of Ladakh. There are two regions in Ladakh, they are Leh and Kargil.

Day 1 - Arrival and local Sightseeing :-

Arrive at Leh airport or at Leh bus stand by yourself and check into the hotel that we have booked for you. You are advised to take complete rest for the day to adapt yourself to the new environment at 11,135 feet altitude. Later, in the evening you can visit the Leh Market, Leh Palace, known as ‘Lachen Palkhar’ or Shanti Stupa, located on a hilltop near Changspa, reaching the top you will see the beauty of whole Leh town. Overnight stay at Leh.

Day 2 - Leh to Kargil via Lamayuru:

After breakfast at the hotel in the morning, we will start driving along the Leh - Srinagar Highway to Kargil. Kargil is the second biggest town in the region after Leh and has major historical and trade significance since time immemorable. The road is smooth with fine tarmac and runs alongside the river Indus till Khaltse and then divert towards Lamayuru. Along the way, we will also visit several attractions like the Lamayuru monastery, Mulbekh monastery and also drive through high passes like Namkila and Fotula - which is the highest point on the Leh-Srinagar Highway. We will reach Kargil by evening. Overnight stay at Kargil.

Day 3 - Kargil to Leh :

Early morning, have breakfast at the Hotel. Soon we will start driving towards Leh by retracing the same route along the Srinagar-Leh Highway. Before reaching Leh in the evening, we will visit some attractions along the Highway like Sangam, the scenic confluence of the Zanskar and Indus river. Magnetic Hill, the place which supposedly defies gravity and force cars uphill due to Magnetic properties. Reach Leh by evening. Overnight stay at Leh.

Day 4 - Leh to Pangong Lake - Leh :-

Today we will drive to the Pangong lake, probably the most well-known tourist attraction in Ladakh. Pangong lake a high altitude border lake measuring 134km in length and about 5 km in width at the widest point. About 40 percent of the lake is in Ladakh while the remaining is in Tibet. The unique feature of the lake is the west end of the Lake which is in Ladakh is saline and supports no marine life except for a few micro-vegetation. The eastern end in Tibet is fresh and tastes sweet. We will drive along the Leh-Manali Highway for about 40Km and divert towards Changla Pass, which was once the 2nd Highest motorable road in the world and often receive snow during colder days. We will then drive through the nomadic land of Changthang, we may get to see some wild animals freely roaming the wide stretches of Changthang before reaching the Pangong lake. Later return back to Leh by retracing the same route through Changla and reach by evening.

Day 5 - Departure from Leh :

Early morning our driver will pick you up and transfer to the Kushok Bakula Rinpoche Leh airport to board a flight back to your next destination. The journey ends with lots of memories and adventure stories to be related once back home.
