Garhwal- This is in the Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand lies the holy place of Yamunotri. The Yamuna River is the second most sacred river of India, originates in Yamunotri, making it one of the pilgrimage sites in the Chota Char Dham Yatra in Uttarakhand. Gangotri: – This is a town and a Nagar Panchayat (municipality) in Uttarkashi district in the state of Uttarakhand, India.  It is on the Greater Himalayan Range, at a height of 3,100 meters (10,200 ft.).
