It is no secret that whoever comes to this land of yellow fields with the Blue Mountains providing the romantic and picturesque backdrop has never gone back without imbibing the essence of Punjab. The culture of Punjab encompasses the spoken language, written literature, cuisine, science, technology, military warfare, architecture, traditions, values, and history of the Punjabi people native to the northern part of the Indian subcontinent. The term ‘Punjabi’ can mean both a person who lives in Punjab and also a speaker of the Punjabi language. This name originates from the Persian language ‘panj’, (five), and ‘ab’, (water). Combined together the word I am the becomes Panjab or Punjab: land of the five rivers. Indus River (the largest river in this five river system), and the five other rivers to the south eventually join Indus or merge into it later in the downstream of the Punjab valley. Itinerary

Day 1 Arrival at Amritsar

After arrival at Amritsar Airport/ Railway station, our representative will drive you to the hotel. Complete your check-in formalities at the hotel. Then, rest and relax for some time. In the evening, pay a visit to the Wagah Border, which is the India-Pakistan border. It hosts the Wagah border retreat ceremony during sunset. Over the years, the flag-lowering ceremony has only increased in popularity and attracted visitors in greater numbers. Enjoy the choreographed dance like maneuvers of the Indian and Pakistani soldiers and feel the electricity in the air. Return to the hotel in the evening. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 2 Amritsar Sight seen

After breakfast, in the morning then begin your city tour with the blessings of Sri Harmandir Sahib in Amritsar. Commonly known as the Golden Temple, it is the holiest shrine of Sikhism and one of the most famous Sikh pilgrimage destinations in Punjab. Guru Granth Sahib, the holy scripture of Sikhism was completed in 1604. The Golden Temple consists of four entrances which is a symbol of its openness and acceptance of people belonging to different religions, creeds, and beliefs. There is an enormous water tank or reservoir surrounding the gurudwara known as Sarovar. The Golden Temple also hosts several festivals throughout the year like Baisakhi, the birth of Guru Ram Das, the martyrdom of Guru Teg Bahadur and Diwali. After seeking blessings and enjoying the relaxed and calm atmosphere inside the temple, head over to Jallianwala Bagh, one of the most famous tourist attractions of Punjab. It is a memorial built in the memory of Indians who lost their lives in the massacre carried out by General Dyer on 13th April 1919. After spending time at the Jallianwala Bagh, head towards the Durgiana Temple. It bears a strong resemblance to the Golden Temple and is very famous among the Hindus in Punjab. The presiding deity of this temple is Goddess Durga and the temple is also named after her. It is also known as Laxmi Narayan Temple. Overnight stay.

Day 3 Amritsar

After breakfast, in the morning our representative will drive you to Amritsar sightseeing tour. You will be visiting a village where you can catch a glimpse of the traditional lifestyle and culture. This is also an opportunity to enjoy authentic local delicacies like naan, kulcha, lachha paratha, chapati, and jowar ki roti. You will also be won over by the hospitality of the people. In the afternoon, treat yourself to traditional Punjabi food. Post lunch, you have the option of enjoying a bhangra performance. Bhangra, one of the folk dances of Punjab is gaining tremendous popularity, both in India and the west. Enjoy the dance performance and revel in the joyous atmosphere all around. After this, return to Amritsar. Stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 4 Amritsar - Departure

After breakfast, in the morning our representative will drive you to Amritsar airport or the railway station to continue with your onward journey with a sweet memory of Punjab tour.
