Dhotrey is located at an altitude of 8,500ft. Dhotrey from Darjeeling about 2.5 hours to by car. Dhotrey trek will start from here through a deep forest and beautiful rhododendron trees welcome you to enter into next place called Tonglu. The Dhotrey-Tonglu/Tumling-Chitrey situated at the edge of the Singalila National Park in Darjeeling district on the West Bengal. Dhotrey has a small model village on the with a number of villagers. This village goes through the road head at Maneybhanjyang, at 2134 m. In this trek route there are the lovely forests of the Rhododendron, Pine, Fir, Birch & Bamboo Glades and the viewpoint of Tonglu, from there, are breathtaking views. The Kanchendzonga Range ia the towering over a basin of silver firs and Rhododendrons, in the foreground, which is known as the sleeping Buddha or the sleeping Shiva. The trek from Dhotrey to Tonglu is along with the forests full of wildflowers and Himalayan flora. Spring season welcomes the varieties of rhododendrons with eye capturing colors of various shades on the whole route. Arrival at the town, check-in into a hotel and retire for the day.
5 Hours Trek, Rathong River, Paha Khola Bridge, Lush Forest, Orchids, Monkeys
Today will be first day of this remarkable trek! Waking up in the morning, start ascending uphill and follow the gorges of the Rathong River. The Trekking through lush thickets of magnolia, rhododendron and ferns, proceed towards the Paha Khola Bridge. On the way, you can spot exotic orchids, colourful flowers and monkeys along the hike! Arriving in Sachen, settle down into the campsite and call it a day.
4-6 Hour Trek, Prek Chu River, Viburnum Plantations
After breakfast in the morning now the trek of the day is ready to take you through the aromatic viburnum plantations, after this you will be crossing the Prek Chu River and hike uphill for around 2-3 hours to reach Bakhim. Hereafter complete trek you will finally reach Tshoka, which is the Tibetan refugee settlement; overnight stay will be in a camp.
4 Hours Trek, Rhododendron Forests
After breakfast in the morning, you will be making your way uphill and through scenic forests of rhododendrons; you can expect well-laid trails on the way. After moving from this, a short trek will finally take you to Dzongri, check in to the camp and get overnight stay.
After breakfast in the morning, get prepared for another scenic uphill trek, and with this trek, you will be crossing 4,000m in the Himalayas! A further climb will finally take you to the Thansing overnight campsite area, from there you will get some amazing views of the Koktang, Rathong, Kabru, Khangchendzonga, Simvo and Pandim peaks.
Leisure Day, Short Excursion
After breakfast in the morning you can spend the day relaxing in the camp or just take up a short exploration quest around the camp. You can explore in around the camps before gaining more higher attitude. Overnight stay at the camps.
Samiti Lake, Zemathang Plateau, Goecha La Pass
Start the day early in order to avoid the harsh climatic conditions that might hinder your course in the latter part of the day. While climbing uphill through the moraines, the trek of the day will be take you in to the Samiti Lake and then cross the Zemathang Plateau. From here, you will go through with another trek and reach at Goecha La Pass.
Arriving at this magnificent pass, you will be able to get magical views of the Kanchenjunga and get overnight stay camp.
7-8 Hours Trek, Kanchenjunga Peak, Dzongri Plateau
After breakfast in the morning you can enjoy enchanting views of the Kanchenjunga Peak from a nearby ridge and start trekking back to Tshoka. You will be taking a route through the Dzongri Plateau to avoid long climb. The trail passes through Prek Chu and the deciduous forests of Phedang. Arriving in Tshoka, settle down in the overnight stay camps.
Prek Chu River 5-6 Hours Trek, Trekking Ends Here
Today, descending through the Prek Chu River, you will be arriving in Yuksom, the last leg of this astounding tour. Arriving in the vicinity, check-in into a local hotel and spend the rest of the day at leisure.
After breakfast in the hotel, prepare your bags and check-out from the hotel. And you trekking tour will be end with the amazing Goecha La trek.
