Ram Tirath is believed to have been the ashram of Maharishi Valmiki, the composer of the epic Ramayana. Legend also has it that Lord Rama’s wife, Sita, gave birth to her twin sons, Luv and Kush, here. A hut that marks the site of their birth, and beautifully sculpted statues depicting scenes from the ancient Sanskrit epic are amongst the notable attractions. A four-day fair is held here every November.
Amritsar, city in northern Punjab state, northwestern India. It lies about 15 miles (25 km) east of the border with Pakistan. Amritsar is the largest and most important city in Punjab and is a significant commercial, cultural, and transportation Centre. It is also the Centre of Sikhism and the site of the Sikhs’ principal place of worship—the Harmandir Sahib, or Golden Temple.
On arrival at Amritsar Airport/ Railway station, our representative will drive you to the hotel. Check-in at the hotel. After taking some rest in the evening, you are going to visit the Golden Temple. Don’t miss out on shopping for some good stuff from the local markets. Stay overnight at the hotel.
