Overview

Nagaland is a state in northeastern India. The state capital is Kohima and the largest the city is Dimapur.There are 16 inhabitant tribes in this state:- Angami, Ao, Chakhesang, Chang, Kachari, Khiamniungan, Konyak, Kuki, Lotha, Phom, Pochury, Rengma, Sangtam, Sumi, Yimchunger, and Zeme-Liangmai (Zeliang). Each tribe is unique in a character with its own distinct customs, language, and dress. Mount Saramati is that the highest peak at three,840 meters and its range forms a natural barrier between Nagaland and Burma. Nagaland is home to the Bhut Jolokia or ghost pepper, one of the hottest chilis in the world at 855,000 SHU on the Scoville scale. All the tribes of Nagaland have their own cookery, and that they use a great deal of meat, fish, and fermented products in their dishes. Galho is a vegetarian porridge cooked with rice, leaves, and condiments. Drinks include zutho and thutse, beers made with sticky rice.

Itinerary

Day 01 Arrival Guwahati

On Arrive at Guwahati airport and then drive to the hotel. Check-in to the hotel and in the evening go for a cruise. Enjoy a very exciting river cruise in the heart of Guwahati City. Return to the hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 02: Guwahati To Kohima

After breakfast and then drive to Kohima, it will be 08 to 09 hrs journey by road. On arrival Check-in to the hotel. You can enjoy the evening at leisure. Have dinner and an overnight stay hotel in Kohima.

Day 03: Kohima to Kisama heritage village

After breakfast and then visit the Kisama heritage village. Naga Heritage Village or Kisama Heritage Village in Kohima shows the rich tradition and culture of Nagas. The famous Hornbill festival is also celebrated here. Return to the hotel Dinner and overnight stay at hotel

Day 04: Kohima to Tuophema

After Have your breakfast and then visit another attraction of Nagaland that is Tuophema. Situated on a hillock, Tuophema village is a tourist village that depicts the culture and traditions of a typical Naga household. surrounded by a lush green valley. Visitors can enjoy traditional Naga dance, celebrations and relish the local Naga specialties. Visit the paddy fields and museum housed within the village Return to Kohima for the night. Dinner and overnight stay at hotel.

Day 05: Kohima- Visit Dimapur (70 kms/3 hrs)

After breakfast and then drive to Dimapur. Visit the Kohima War Cemetery which is a memorial dedicated to the soldiers who died in the Second World War at Kohima. After you reach Dimapur check-in to the hotel and visit the City Tower, Green Park, and Dimapur Ao Baptist Church. Also, visit the local market and by the dusk return to the hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 06: Departure

Have your breakfast and then drive to the Dimapur airport To catch onward your train & return back to home with sweet memories of Guwahati holidays tour.
