There has been a long pending demand of the people of Ladakh and to give it the status of a Union Territory to enable them to realize their aspirations. The Union The territory of Ladakh will be without Legislature and Ladakh became a New Union Territory of India.

Ladakh is a mountainous region and the very coldest desert in the world.

In Ladakh, nature has rendered a magical, fantastic landscape and Most unbelievable and which is extremely breathtaking.

Ladakh lies in the north-east region of India and is surrounded by the world’s highest mountain ranges, Karakoram and Great Himalayas. The Ladakh district occupied China in the north and Kashmir in the west and Ladakh is an exotic and famous destination considered as the highest plateau lying at an altitude of 9, 800 ft. Ladakh is the 3rd province of Kashmir Valley. The population of Ladakh is about 2, 60,000 which contains a mixture of many different ethnic groups, predominantly Tibetans, Dards, Monpas, Muslims. Before 6th August 1979, the Ladakh District was divided into Leh District (mostly occupied by Tibetan Buddhist) and Kargil District (mostly occupied by Shia Muslims). But Recent Ladakh is the Union Territory state of India. And Leh is the capital of Ladakh. There are two regions in Ladakh, they are Leh and Kargil.

Itinerary

Day 1 Leh :

On arrival at Leh Airport and our representative will pick you and transfer to your hotel. Check-in the hotel and use the rest of the day to rest and get acclimatized to the high altitude (3500 meters/11800 ft) and low air pressure in Leh. Strolling around the local Leh markets maybe a good idea during the evening. Overnight stay at Leh Hotel.

Day 2 Leh :

After breakfast, proceed to the 1000-year-old paintings of Alchi Monastery. En-route, you will visit the famous Maitreya Buddha statue at Likir monastery and drive past the confluence of Indus & Zanskar rivers at Nimoo, Magnetic Hill and military Hall of Fame. Stay overnight at the Leh Hotel.

Day 3 Leh to Khardongla Pass - (Leh) :

After Morning Breakfast starts with a visit to Khardongla Pass which, at 18360 ft, is the world’s highest motorable pass. During the afternoon, you will be introduced to a local family in Stok village which serves delicious homemade butter tea and barley drink. Later you will visit the Thiksey Monastery which houses the most photographed statue of Maitreya Buddha in India. Return by evening for an overnight stay at the Leh hotel.

Day 4 Pangong Lake (Leh) :

Today morning after breakfast excursion to Pangong Lake, a 135 km drive from Leh. The Pangong Lake is approx.140km long and 3-5km in width – more than half of which lies in Tibetan territory. As you return back Leh by evening, you will visit the remaining time exploring local markets, looking for a decent bargain. Overnight stay is again at the Leh hotel.

Day 5 Leh – Delhi :

Today morning transfer to KBR airport to board flight for onward journey.
