Overview

Kurukshetra is not described as a city but a region (“kshetra” means “region” in Sanskrit). According to the Taittiriya Aranyaka. the Kurukshetra region is south of Turghna (Srughna/Sugh in Sirhind, Punjab), north of Khandava (Delhi and Mewat region), east of Maru (desert), and west of Parin.

Itinerary

Delhi – Kurukshetra

On arrival at Delhi Airport / Railway station, there you will meet and assist by our representative and proceed to the Kurukshetra (2-3 hours journey 154 km). On arrival at Kurukshetra check into the hotel and after taking some rest and proceed to the kurukshetra sightseeing. Visit Bhrama Sarover Dedicated to Lord Brahma, it is believed that Brahma created mother earth from this Sarovar, Founded in 1987, Krishna Museum houses various artifacts of Lord Krishna and Krishna's incarnations from 1st Century AD to 11th Century AD. The Sannihit Sarovar is believed to be the meeting point of seven tributaries of Saraswati River and the home of Lord Vishnu.. After back to the hotel dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

Kurukshetra Sightseeing

After morning breakfast and proceed to the Kurukshetra sightseeing. The Jyotisar is associated with the legend of Mahabharata and is a sacred site in Kurukshetra, It is said that the Pandavas obtained the blessings of Lord Shiva in Sthaneshwar Mahadev Temple. The Bhadrakali Temple is where Pandavas were believed to perform prayers and rituals before the final battle against Kauravas. The Kurukshetra Panorama & Science Centre_was established to explain the role of science in the traditional Indian religion. Kalpana Chawla Memorial Planetarium was established in the memory of Kalpana Chawla. It is based on astronomy and its study in the Indian civilization since pre-historic times. After back to the hotel dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

Kurukshetra sightseeing

After morning breakfast and proceed to the Kurukshetra sightseeing. The Bhishma Kund is associated with the famous legend of Mahabharata. It is where Bhishma Pitamah was laid on a bed of arrows made by Arjun for him to watch the battle. Sheikh Cheli Mausoleum or Sheikh Chilli's Tomb was built in the memory of the Sufi master of Prince Dara Shikoh. Lakshmi Narayan temple is an 18th century shrine dedicated to Lord Narayan and Goddess Lakshmi, Dharohar Museum exhibits the rich historical, cultural, archaeological and architectural heritage of the state. Raja Harsh Ka Tila is an archaeologically important site in the region. Excavations have revealed an ancient settlement expanding about 1 square kilometer, Raja Karna Ka Kila is a site belonging to three cultural periods in the region ranging from 4th Century BC to 3rd Century AD. It was first surveyed and excavated in 1921 by Archaeological Survey of India. After back to the hotel dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
