It is the second-largest city of Bastar division after Jagdalpur. Jagdalpur also spelled Jagadalpur, city, southeastern Chhattisgarh state, east-central India. It is situated in an upland region just south of the Indravati River at an elevation of about 1,820 feet (555 meters). Jagdalpur is surrounded by dense forests.
