There has been a long pending demand of the people of Ladakh and to give it the status of a Union Territory to enable them to realize their aspirations. The Union The territory of Ladakh will be without Legislature and Ladakh became a New Union Territory of India.

Ladakh is a mountainous region and the very coldest desert in the world.

In Ladakh, nature has rendered a magical, fantastic landscape and Most unbelievable and which is extremely breathtaking.

Ladakh lies in the north-east region of India and is surrounded by the world’s highest mountain ranges, Karakoram and Great Himalayas. The Ladakh district occupied China in the north and Kashmir in the west and Ladakh is an exotic and famous destination considered as the highest plateau lying at an altitude of 9, 800 ft. Ladakh is the 3rd province of Kashmir Valley. The population of Ladakh is about 2, 60,000 which contains a mixture of many different ethnic groups, predominantly Tibetans, Dards, Monpas, Muslims. Before 6th August 1979, the Ladakh District was divided into Leh District (mostly occupied by Tibetan Buddhist) and Kargil District (mostly occupied by Shia Muslims). But Recent Ladakh is the Union Territory state of India. And Leh is the capital of Ladakh. There are two regions in Ladakh, they are Leh and Kargil.

Itinerary

Day 1 Leh:

Take an early morning flight to reach Leh and Leh is approx.11800 ft above sea level. As you land at the Leh Airport Kushok Bakula Rimpochee Airport, transfer to your hotel. Check into your room and Taking some rest and adapting to the low air pressure, which is a must to settle yourself to the high altitudes of Ladakh. In the evening visit Shanti stupa, and Local Market. Overnight stay at Leh Hotel.

Day 2 Leh - Spituk - Pather Sahib – Leh:

After Morning breakfast you drive to Spituk. Today we'll cover Spituk Monastery, the famous Magnetic Hills, the confluence of Indus and Zanskar River near Nimoo and visit Pather Sahib an important Sikh Pilgrimage Site.

Day 3 Leh - Pangong Lake – Leh:

After morning breakfast drive to Pangong Lake which is a 135 km drive from Leh. Pangong Lake is approx. 140km long and approx. 4 to 5km wide and more than half of it lies in the Tibetan territory. Since you return by the evening, you can roam about Leh's local markets looking for a deal or two. Overnight stay is at the hotel.

Day 4 Leh - Khardungla Pass – Leh:

After morning Breakfast visit to Khardungla Pass at 18360 ft which, not surprisingly, is the world's highest motorable pass.

Day 5 Monasteries and Palaces :

Today after morning Breakfast and this day for cultural immersion in and around Leh. Sightseeing will include visit to Thiskey Gompa, one of the most breathtaking monasteries in Ladakh. We would also visit Shey Palace in the vicinity. After that, you will go to Hemis which hosts one of the most well-known festivals in Ladakh. After visiting the monasteries you will drive to Stok Palace Museum which showcases royal artifacts and paraphernalia.

Day 6 Depart Leh :

After Morning Breakfast transfer to Kushok Bakula Rimpochee Airport on time to board flight for onward destination.
