There has been a long pending demand of the people of Ladakh and to give it the status of a Union Territory to enable them to realize their aspirations. The Union The territory of Ladakh will be without Legislature and Ladakh became a New Union Territory of India.

Ladakh is a mountainous region and the very coldest desert in the world.

In Ladakh, nature has rendered a magical, fantastic landscape and Most unbelievable and which is extremely breathtaking.

Ladakh lies in the north-east region of India and is surrounded by the world’s highest mountain ranges, Karakoram and Great Himalayas. The Ladakh district occupied China in the north and Kashmir in the west and Ladakh is an exotic and famous destination considered as the highest plateau lying at an altitude of 9, 800 ft. Ladakh is the 3rd province of Kashmir Valley. The population of Ladakh is about 2, 60,000 which contain a mixture of many different ethnic groups, predominantly Tibetans, Dards, Monpas, Muslims. Before 6th August 1979, the Ladakh District was divided into Leh District (mostly occupied by Tibetan Buddhist) and Kargil District (mostly occupied by Shia Muslims). But Recent Ladakh is the Union Territory state of India. And Leh is the capital of Ladakh. There are two regions in Ladakh, they are Leh and Kargil.

Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival Leh:-

On Arrival Leh The airport you will meet our representative and drive to Leh. Check in to the hotel and some rest and Freshen up the drive to Local Sightseeing Of Leh visit Leh Market. Overnight stay at Leh Hotel.

Day 2 :Leh - Hemis Monastery for the festival (48 km) :-

Morning Breakfast in the hotel you will visit the Hemis monastery for the festival and about 3 P.M. in the afternoon the group will move back to Leh and on the way, the group will visit two more famous monasteries i.e Shey and Thiksey.
Hemis Monastery is the biggest and the Popular monastery in Ladakh. It is situated approx 49 km to the south of Leh, a little off the main Leh-Manali road. It was built 17th century by the Chapgon Gyalshas and ever since has enjoyed the patronage of the royal family. Hemis is the headquarter of the Drukpa order and all the monasteries throughout Ladakh. It also trains Lamas for the royal monasteries at Leh, Bazgo, and Shey. In the 19th century, it faced a siege by the General Zorawar Singh. The Gompa was saved to the skillful handling of the situation by the head Lama.
Thiksey Gompa: After that, you will visit the

Thiksey monastery is a most imposing structure providing a panoramic view of the green Indus valley from its vantage atop a hill. It has chambers full of statues, tannkhas, and stupas.

Shey Palace and Monastery: On the way, you will visit Hemis Gompa and 15 km from Leh is the summer palace of the erstwhile and Raja of Leh, set upon a hill sitting Buddha wrought with gold and Copper that leaves one lama beforehand.

Day 3 :Leh to Lamayuru (124 kms) :-

Morning Breakfast in the hotel drive to local sightseeing Lamayuru: After exploring villages around the area, it comes as a surprise to find that Lamayuru is a scruffy little place. The gompa is the completely overshadowed and most Popular spectacular monastery in Ladakh. On the way, you will visit the Alchi and Rizong monasteries. Alchi monastery is famous and Popular gompa for the 1000-year old wall painting, which makes a visit more than worthwhile. Rizong monastery about the six km along a steepish, rocky track from the main road is the starts of the area with the nunnery of Julochen and the gompa of Rizong belonging to the Gelukpa factions.

Day 04: Leh– Departure:-

After breakfast, check-out from the hotel and get driven to Leh Airport for onward journey. The journey ends with Sweet Memories of Ladakh.
