Highlights

  • Kheer Bhawani Darshan:- The mention of Kheer Bhawani is found in Kalhana's Rajtarangini. Kalhana writes that the sacred spring of Tula Mula is situated in marshy ground. The name of the spring is Mata Ragini Kund. Maharani is the form of Durga Bhagvati. The Brahmins of Kashmir worship this spring and pilgrims from every comer of the country visit to have the darshan of the place.
  • Manasbal:- The lake is a good place for bird watching as it is one of the largest natural stamping grounds of Aquatic birds in Kashmir and has the sobriquet of "supreme gem of all Kashmir Lakes". The rootstocks of lotus plant which grows extensively in the lake are harvested and marketed, and also eaten by the local people.
  • Verinag:- There are several places of attractions in and around Verinag. One of the benefits of making Verinag the focal point of your vacation is that it is equidistant from many beautiful places in Kashmir. Jammu, Patnitop, and Anantnag are all close to Verinag. You could visit the Martand Sun temple from Anantnag, the Bahu Fort and Mansar Lake in Jammu, and Sanasar Lake and Nathatop near Patnitop.
  • Chasme Shahi Garden:- Chashme Shahi garden is a terraced lawn, fascinating fountains and flower beds on the banks of Dal Lake. The beautifully terraced garden and colorful flowers make Chashme Shahi beautiful than any other parks and gardens of Kashmir. Originally Shah Jahan's creation in the year 1632 it has undergone a number of renovations to retain its remarkable beauty. Shah Jahan named the garden after a mountain spring that waters it and so it has the name, Chashme Shahi. Get your permits from the information counter to visit this garden in Srinagar.
  • ShalimarBagh:- One of the most famous gardens in Kashmir valley, Shalimar garden is situated on the shores of serene Dal Lake. The word ‘Shalimar’ itself defines the reason for its construction which indicates ‘abode of love’. Therefore, the ‘house of Love’ was built by Mughal Emperor Jehangir for his beloved wife Nur Jahan, around 400 years back. The lush green and well-maintained Garden of Srinagar designed with terrace lawns, fountain pools and flower beds combined with mighty chinar trees and pavilions. The interior of Shalimar Bagh contains four terraces in which the topmost terraces were originally reserved for the royal ladies and is considered to be the most beautiful section.
