There has been a long pending demand of the people of Ladakh and to give it the status of a Union Territory to enable them to realize their aspirations. The Union The territory of Ladakh will be without Legislature and Ladakh became a New Union Territory of India.

Ladakh is a mountainous region and the very coldest desert in the world.

In Ladakh, nature has rendered a magical, fantastic landscape and Most unbelievable and which is extremely breathtaking.

Ladakh lies in the north-east region of India and is surrounded by the world’s highest mountain ranges, Karakoram and Great Himalayas. The Ladakh district occupied China in the north and Kashmir in the west and Ladakh is an exotic and famous destination considered as the highest plateau lying at an altitude of 9, 800 ft. Ladakh is the 3rd province of Kashmir Valley. The population of Ladakh is about 2, 60,000 which contains a mixture of many different ethnic groups, predominantly Tibetans, Dards, Monpas, Muslims. Before 6th August 1979, the Ladakh District was divided into Leh District (mostly occupied by Tibetan Buddhist) and Kargil District (mostly occupied by Shia Muslims). But Recent Ladakh is the Union Territory state of India. And Leh is the capital of Ladakh. There are two regions in Ladakh, they are Leh and Kargil.

Itinerary

Day 1 Delhi – Leh

Take the flight to Leh from Delhi airport. On arriving at the Kushok Bakula Airport, Leh (3500 m), meet our tour representative. Get assistance for transfer to the hotel and complete the check-in formalities as you savor your welcome drink. In the evening drive to the Leh bazaar to spot the hustle-bustle. Overnight stay at Leh Hotel.

Day 2 Leh - Lower Indus Valley to Leh

After Morning Breakfast visits Indus Valley and explore its major attractions. While driving from Leh to Indus Valley en-route visit the Magnetic Hill, one of the wonders of the Himalayas. Just before the Indus valley and stop at the Nimu valley. The barren yet enchanting landscape is worth every minute you will spend here. If the weather permits, gear up for river rafting in River Indus. The next stop is, the Pathar Sahib Gurudwara. Lying on Leh-Nimu road and this Gurudwara has been built to honor the visit of Guru Nanak, the founder of Sikh religion to this region. Revel in its beauty and do not miss the excellent adventure opportunities. Back to Leh for overnight stay.

Day 3 Leh - Nubra Valley

Today After morning Breakfast drive to Nubra Valley. It is one of the most popular tourist destinations of Ladakh. The unique landscape has given it the name of ‘desert in the sky’ and Flower Valley or Ldumbra Valley. On arrival, check-in at a guest house/hotel. Later, leave for sightseeing. The unmissable attraction of Nubra Valley is camel safari on the Hunder sand dunes. The double-humped camels take you to explore the surrounding scenery and enjoy the Double Humped Camels Safari. Next, visit Panamik village. There are many hot water sulfur springs. Pay a visit to the Diskit Monastery, the oldest and the largest monastery of Nubra. Overnight stay in Nubra Valley.

Day 4 Nubra Valley – Leh

After Morning Breakfast gets ready for a morning expedition to Samstanling Monastery. The 19th-century monastery is set in a serene setting in the Nubra Valley. Revel in the spiritual bliss of Tibetan traditions. Later, begin your drive back to Leh. Your drive passes through Khardung La Top, which is titled as one of the highest motorable roads in the world. One arrival in Leh, and check-in formalities at the hotel. The day is Day free for Leisure and spends at your own leisure. There are activities of your interest, beautiful surroundings and a platter of sumptuous delicacies of the local cuisines to try out and Interact with the locals to know more about their culture. Overnight in Leh.

Day 5 Leh - Pangong Lake

Day 5 is scheduled to visit the serene environs of Pangong Lake, also known as Pangong Tso. Drive through the Chang La Pass mountain pass and Changla Pass is the 3rd Highest Motorable road in the world and placed at an altitude of 5360 m above the sea level. After that drive through Durnuk and Tangtse villages and witness the daily activities of the locals of the Changthang region. By Afternoon arrive at the Pangong Lake. Set your camps here. The views around the lake are extremely enchanting and very soothing. Spot Beautiful colorful birds on the banks of Pangong. Do will visit the local village in the vicinity to know about the local culture. Stay overnight in tents.

Day 6 Pangong Tso - Leh

Today start the day early before the sun is up. The mesmerizing Beautiful sun rising over the lake is definitely one you would love to capture in your camera. Marvel at the blessed view. Begin your drive back to Leh. Upon arrival in Leh and check-into the hotel, followed by sightseeing. Start your sightseeing tour with Shanti Stupa, a white-domed Buddhist stupa on a hilltop offering panoramic views. After that visit the Leh Palace, which is the former royal palace built during the 17th century. Do not miss the Hall of Fame Museum, founded and managed by the Army in the memory of war heroes. Return to your hotel Overnight stay at Hotel.

Day 7 Leh (Monastery Visit)

After Morning Breakfast visiting the popular monasteries of Ladakh. Your will cover all major monasteries including Thiksey, Hemis, Spituk, Shey, and Stakna. These spiritual centers are an architectural marvel and with a cultural legacy that creates curiosity in the minds of travelers. Thiksey boasts of being the largest monastery in the central Ladakh region. Hemis is believed to be the largest and wealthiest monastery in Leh. The 11th-century Spituk monastery is blessed with breathtaking views of the Indus. Shey is a popular monastery with huge copper and gilded gold statue of seated Shakyamuni Buddha. After that visit the Stakna monastery that belongs to the Drugpa Buddhist sect and is home to around 30 monks. After that well-spent day, have an overnight stay in Leh.

Day 8 Departure from Leh – Delhi

This is the last day of your Discover Ladakh tour and gets an assisted transfer to the Leh Airport to board flight for Delhi. Tours End with Happy Memories.
