Overview

Rumtek Monastery the Dharmachakra Centre, is a gompa located in the Indian state of Sikkim near the capital Gangtok. It is a focal point for the sectarian tensions within the Karma Kagyu school of Tibetan Buddhism that characterize the Karmapa controversy.

The Enchey Monastery was established in 1909 above Gangtok, the capital city of Sikkim in the Northeastern Indian state. It belongs to the Nyingma order of Vajrayana Buddhism. The monastery built around the then small hamlet of Gangtok became a religious centre.

Tsomgo Lake, also known as Tsongmo Lake or Changu Lake, is a glacial lake in the East Sikkim district of the Indian state of Sikkim, some 40 kilometres from the capital Gangtok. Located at an elevation of 3,753 m, the lake remains frozen during the winter season.

Lachen is a town in North Sikkim district in the Indian state of Sikkim. It is located at an elevation of 2,750 metres. The name Lachen means “big pass”. The town is being promoted as a tourist destination by the Sikkimese government. The town forms the base to the Chopta Valley and Gurudongmar Lake.

DAY 01: Bagdogra to Gangtok

On arrival at Bagdogra Railway station/Airport from there, you will meet and assist by our representative at the railway station or airport and transfer to Gangtok.

DAY 02: Gangtok Sightseeing

After breakfast visit Rumtek Monastery, Institute of Tibetology, Handicraft, Do-Drul Chorten and Enchey Monastery. Dinner and overnight stay in Gangtok hotel.

DAY 03: Gangtok to Tsomgo lake

After morning breakfast go to visit Tsomgo Lake, also known as Tsongmo Lake or Changu Lake. Dinner and overnight stay in a hotel in Gangtok hotel.

DAY 04: Gangtok to Lachen 123 km, 06 - 07 hrs

After breakfast check out from the Gangtok hotel and drive to Lachen passing through Tashi View Point, Kavi Lungtsok, Phodong Monastery, Mangan & Chungthang. Overnight at Gurudongmar lodge.(Lachen) Dinner and overnight stay in the hotel.

DAY 05: Lachen to Tallem

After breakfast check out from the hotel and starts the trek early in the morning to Tallem. (3468 m) 13 km. Lunch at Tallem and free for sightseeing where the Lhonak Chu from the north meets Zemu Chu. Dinner and overnights in Tallem Camp.

DAY 06: Tallem to Jakthang.

After morning breakfast start your trek from Tallem to Jakthang (3176 m) 4-5 hrs trek. This route is a color in heaven passing through at least twenty different types of rhododendrons, varying in color from white to deep red, and ranging from 6 meters in height to trees to feet. Dinner and overnight stay at Jakhang Camp.

DAY 07: Jakthang to Yabuk.

After morning breakfast start your trek tour walk from Jakthang to Yabuk (3978 m) takes about 4hrs. Dinner and overnight in the Yabuk.

DAY 08: Yabuk to Rest Camp/Marcopolo Camp.

After breakfast start your trek from Yabuk to rest camp takes about 5hrs passing through long moraine fields, looking like deserts.

DAY 09: Marcopolo Camp Halt.

One day halt for Acclimatisation.

DAY 10: Rest Camp to Green Lake.

After breakfast in the morning, the walk from Rest Camp to Green Lake (4935 m) is about 04 hrs. If the weather is clear then you will see Mt. Sinilchu (6887 m) leaning against the sky raising his silver spur. The most beautiful peak in the world. Dinner and overnight stay in the camp.

DAY 11: Green lake/Sightseeing above 600mt.

After breakfast go to visit the green lake sightseeing 04 hrs walk above 600mt where you will be rewarded with the grand panorama of the Mt. Khangchendzonga divide & distant Chomalhari in Bhutan. Dinner and overnight stay in the camp.

DAY 12: Above 600mt to Zemu Glacier.

After breakfast go to visit descend to the bed of Zemu Glacier with many small Green Lakes. Dinner and overnight stay in camp.

DAY 13: Zemu Glacier to Rest Camp.

After breakfast the back journey begins to Rest Camp.

DAY 14: Rest Camp to Thieulacha.

After resting in the Camp to you can visit Thieulacha is quite steeply zigzag with giant Rhubarbs Rheum Nobile and of thick scrubs of Juniper.

DAY 15: Thieulacha to Langbo.

After breakfast in the camp start your trek from Thieulacha to Langbo is about 5hrs walk. Dinner and overnight stay in the camp.

DAY 16: Langbo to Muguthang.

Trek to Muguthang (4520 m) you have to cross Tablhe Plateau which the flats look pale and the grey and the slopes below the snow is brown and yellow.

DAY 17: Muguthang to Chopta.

Trek from Muguthang to Chopta (3920 m) is steep, crossing Charub Chu and Lugnak La. Reaching Chopta where you can see the meandering river.

DAY 18: Chopta to Sebu.

Trek from Chopta to Sebu la (5352 m) is about 5hrs walk passing through Thangu (small village town) and climbing up gently till Phalung, where Yak race has been done in winters. (Tibetan New Year & Lassur Chu)

DAY 19: Cebu La to Yumesamdong.

After visiting in sebu la trek to Yumesamdong (4824 m) 5-6 hrs walk seeing the sightseeing of Sebu Chu, Waterfalls & the Hot Spring of Yumesamdong. Dinner and overnight stay in Yumesamdong.

DAY 20: Yumesamdong to Yumthang.

After breakfast depart to Gangtok (130 Km 05 – 06 Hours Journey). & return to home with Sweet memories of Unforgettable.
