Panipat is a historical city in the state of Haryana situated 90 kilometers north of Delhi. It is popularly known as “ City of Weavers” because of its handloom products which are exported all over the country and abroad.
It has a place in the pages of Indian history as three historic battles were fought on this land. Major attractions include – Hemu’s Samadhi Sthal, Ibrahim Lodhi’s Tomb, Babur’s Kabuli Bagh Mosque, Kala Amb, Panipat Museum, Devi Temple and Salar Gunj. The best time to visit is in the months between October and January.
Founded during the rule of the Lodi sultans in the 15th century, Ludhiana is better known as Punjab’s manufacturing hub. Several of India’s leading business houses have their origins in Ludhiana and its many cottage and small-scale industries produce bicycle parts, hosiery, and woolens. Ludhiana is home to the renowned Punjab Agricultural University, sprawled over 1500 acres. Established in 1962, it continues its commitment to improving productivity and profitability in the agriculture sector. The annual Kisan Mela organized by it attracts farmers from all over Punjab; as does the Rural Museum within the premises.
