Darjeeling is a town in India’s West Bengal state, in the Himalayan foothills. Once a summer resort for the British Raj elite, it remains the terminus of the narrow-gauge Darjeeling Himalayan Railway, or “Toy Train,” completed in 1881. It’s famed for the distinctive black tea grown on plantations that dot its surrounding slopes. Its backdrop is Mt. Kanchenjunga, among the world’s highest peaks.
On arrival at the airport/railway station (125 km 4 hours )on arrival and drive to Gangtok. On arrival at Gangtok, check in to the hotel . Dinner & Overnight stay at the hotel.
After breakfast at the hotel and proceed for half day city tour visiting Rumtek Monastery, Do Drul Chorten, Namgyal Institute of Tibetology(closed on Sundays), Cottage Industry(closed on Sundays) and Flower Show Complex. Overnight at the hotel.
After breakfast at the hotel and full-day excursion to Changu Lake which is 35 km from Gangtok at an altitude of 12,400 feet. The lake derives its waters from melting snows off the surrounding mountains Legends say that lamas could forecast the future by studying the color of the lake’s waters. Also, visit Baba Mandir. Overnight at the hotel.
After breakfast and proceed for Pelling. Pemayangtse is a very small Himalayan village in West Sikkim. Pelling is the nearest motor able point from Mt. Kanchendzonga, worlds 3rd highest peak, offers a good sunrise and all day long view of Kanchendzonga and the entire Eastern Himalayan range. Visit Darap Village, Rimbi Waterfalls and Kangchenjunga Waterfalls. As soon as you arrive, check in at the hotel. Overnight stay at Pelling.
After breakfast, get ready for a half-day sightseeing tour of Darjeeling(80 Km / 4 hours). Visit Darap Village, Rimbi Waterfalls and Kangchenjunga Waterfalls. Then, transfer to Darjeeling. As soon as you arrive, check-in at the hotel and relax for a while. Overnight stay will be at Darjeeling.
After breakfast morning starts for Tiger Hill to watch the spectacular sunrise and its amazing effects on the Mt. Kanchendzonga (World’s 3rd highest peak), Visit Ghoom Monastery. Breakfast at the Hotel followed by half day local Best points sightseeing covering Padmaja N. Zoological Garden (Closed on Thursday), Himalayan Mountaineering Institute (Closed on Thursday), Tibetan Refugee Self-help Center (Closed on Sunday), Ropeway (entry fees not included), walk around visit to the Mall and Local Market (Closed on Thursday). Evening Free for shopping & individual activity, overnight at hotel.
