Jawalaji (flame) or Jwala Mukhi (flame mouth) is probably the most ancient temple discussed here besides Vaishno Devi. It is mentioned in the Mahabharata and other scriptures. There is a natural cave in Jawalaji where eternal flames continue to burn.
Chintpurni is a big pilgrimage Centre and one of the Shakti Peethas. It is located in Una district. When Lord Vishnu severed the burning body of Mata Sati into 51 pieces so that Lord Shiva would calm down and stop his Tandava, the pieces were scattered over multiple places in the Indian subcontinent. It is believed that Mata Sati’s head fell at this place and is thus considered one of the most important of the 51 Shakti Peethas.
The Temple of Naina Devi Ji is situated on a hilltop, base of which also has samadhi of bhagat Jatt Jeona Morh in the Bilaspur District. The hills of Naina Devi Temple overlook the Gobind Sagar lake. The lake was created by the Bhakra-Nangal Dam. According to history and a legend, Goddess Sati burnt herself alive in Yagna, which distressed Lord Shiva. He picked the body of Sati on his shoulder and started his Tandava dance. This pray Lord Vishnu to unleash his Chakra that cut the Sati’s body into 51 pieces. Shri Naina Devi Temple is the place where eyes of Mata Sati fell down.
Chamunda is also known as Chamundeshwari, Rakta Kali and Charchika is a fearsome form of Chandi, the Hindu Divine Mother and one of the seven Matrikas (mother goddesses) Chamunda is an esoteric aspect of Durga in her Chandi form. She is a form of Mata Kali invoked by Chandi to destroy evil.
Day 01:
On arrival at Chandigarh Airport/Railway station you will meet and assist by our representative and drive to Naina Devi (100 kms) to Naina Devi from Chandigarh . On the way Bhakhra dam spend some time and enjoy . after proceeds to Naina Devi . According to Hindu mythology, Sati killed herself by jumping in the fire when her father Daksha Prajapati insulted her husband, Lord Shiva. It is the place where the eyes of Devi Sati fell. The word Naina is derived from this. After that drive 200 kms from Naina Devi toChintpurni Temple (112 Kms from Naina devi Temple), Chintpurni Temple is dedicated to Shri Chhinnamastika Devi or Chintpurni Devi. Chintpurni Devi is regarded as the Goddess who takes away all the worries. The term 'Chhinnamastika' suggests 'without the head'. At the time of self sacrifice, part of Sati's feet fell at this place. After it, drive 35 kms to Jwalamukhi Temple from Chintpurni. Jwalamukhi temple is dedicated to 'GODDESS OF LIGHT'. There is a copper pipe in the temple from where natural gas comes out. Priest of the temple lights this, overnight stay at hotel in chintapurni.
Day 02:
Second Day ready drive to Jawala Ji Temple 35 kms from Jwalamukhi temple to Kangra Temple It is located in Kangra town. Temple also known as Bajreshvari temple. It is believed that when Sati's body was cut in to different pieces than some part of Sati's body fell here.Jawala Ji or Jwala devi temple is one of the 51 Shaktipeeths of India and Jawala Ji Temple is one of the highly venerated Shakti Temples in India.& other Sightseen Kangra Fort, Mata Brajeshwari Devi, Nagarkot Fort Museum, Gupt Ganga Temple, Museum, Shiv Temple, It is situated in the lap of Shivalik range of Kangra valley called “Kalidhar”. This is believed to be the first ever temple built by the Pandavas. Jwala Ji is a Devi Temple Dedicated to the “GODDESS OF LIGHT” located in Jawala Mukhi, district Kangra of Himachal Pradesh. overnight stay in Hotel.
Day 03:
Third Day proceed for Chamunda Devi Temple dedicated to the wrathful form of Goddess Durga or Chamunda who in Hindu Mythology is the symbol of female power. The idol of Goddess Chamunda in the temple is considered so sacred that it is completely hidden beneath a red cloth and is kept so always. Seek blessings from Goddess Chamunda & return back to Dharamshala for sightseeing. McLeodganj which has a distinctly different character, with its brightly painted buildings, Buddhist temples, prayer flags fluttering in the air and saffron monks and nuns hurrying along the streets. You will be visiting the main Buddhist temple or Tsuglagkhang (cathedral). It is believed that the temple resembles the one in Lhasa, and is surrounded by red and gold prayer wheels that are set in motion by devotees to scatter prayers in the air.
After spending time on the Mall Road visit Dal Lake along with Church of St. John in the Wilderness, built in 1860. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 04:
Fourth Day drive to Dalhousie ( 118 km 03 hours Journey) . On arrival check into the hotel after some rest & freshen up proceed for full day sightseeing tour in Dalhousie. Drive to Khajjiar, on the way visit Panchpula, and then Kalatop Khajjiar wildlife Sanctuary and Khajjiar Lake. overnight stay at hotel.
Satdhara:
Satdhara Falls located on the way to Panchpula is one of the most popular sightseeing attractions of Dalhousie. Satdhara is a mixture of seven streams believed to have healing properties flow. This Lovely spot has acquired its name from the seven gorgeous springs.
Jandri Ghat:
Jandri Ghat is a home of beautiful heritage palace (The Residence of Governor of Chamba) wrapped in soothing greenery, Jandri Ghat is a real eye catching spot to everyone. This place covered by the pine and deodar trees. It is also famous for picnic spots for the locals and tourist alike.
St. Andrew’s Church:
St. Andrew’s Church located at a distance of approximately one and half kilometer from the main bus stand of the Dalhousie is a popular tourist destinations. For nature lovers it is one of the ideal locations as the entire church is surrounded by natural beauty that can be enjoyed.
Panchpula:
Panchpula is a nice picnic spot near Dalhousie town and it’s around 3.5 km from Gandhi Chawk it is nice place to spend some time in evening. There are some waterfalls, water streams which is must go place.
Khajjiar:
Khajjiar is a popular hill station about 26 km from Dalhousie in Himachal Pradesh. Khajjiar is also known as “Mini Switzerland or Gulmarg of Himachal Pradesh.” One of the 160 places in the world that bear tropical resemblance to Switzerland, Dalhousie and Kalatop Wildlife Sanctuary among others. Indeed, trekking is the best way to explore Khajjiar. Zorbing, which involves rolling downhill from inside a plastic ‘zorb’, is a popular recreational activity during April and May. With its exotic flora and fauna, the Kalatop Wildlife Sanctuary is a delight for nature lovers and wildlife photographers.
Day 05:
Fifth Day drive to Chamera Lake and proceed for Bakrota Hill, Dainkund Peak & Chamera Lake Dam. Afternoon return to Dalhousie, evening is free for stroll the local market. overnight stay at hotel.
Bakrota Hills:
Bakrota Hills located at an altitude of 2085 m above the sea level in Chamba District of Himachal Pradesh, is part of the Dalhousie Hill Station. A superb view of the snow-clad peaks of the Himalayas can be had from here. The Bakrota Mall at a height of 2085 m in the Bakrota hills is beautiful place to walk. The Bakrota Mall offers a 5 km popular walking path around the hill, which is frequented by throngs of tourists every year.
Dainkund Peak:
Dainkund Peak is a stunning tourist place, perched at an altitude of 2755 meters, is the supreme mount in Dalhousie. From this peak tourists can relish 360° view of the entire valley. The noise of the breeze passing through the trees makes a musical sound, due to which this peak has also obtained the name, the singing hill. The vertex of this hill is engaged by the Indian Air Force and by taking a left turn from there will take tourists to the Pholani Devi Temple. One of the most pleasant facts about this temple is that, except a trident there is nothing inside the temple premises. From above, tourists can also enjoy trekking in this attractive hill.
Day 06:
Last Day Drive to Amritsar (210 km 05- 06 Hours Journey). On arrival at the hotel, after some rest & freshen up proceeds to Amritsar Sightseeing visit Wagha Border‘ Jaliyawala “ Golden Temple”.
In the Evening transfer to Amritsar Airport/Railway station & return home with sweet memories of Unforgettable Dharamshala & Dalhousie
