There has been a long pending demand of the people of Ladakh and to give it the status of a Union Territory to enable them to realize their aspirations. The Union The territory of Ladakh will be without Legislature and Ladakh became a New Union Territory of India.

Ladakh is a mountainous region and the very coldest desert in the world.

In Ladakh, nature has rendered a magical, fantastic landscape and Most unbelievable and which is extremely breathtaking.

Ladakh lies in the north-east region of India and is surrounded by the world’s highest mountain ranges, Karakoram and Great Himalayas. The Ladakh district occupied China in the north and Kashmir in the west and Ladakh is an exotic and famous destination considered as the highest plateau lying at an altitude of 9, 800 ft. Ladakh is the 3rd province of Kashmir Valley. The population of Ladakh is about 2, 60,000 which contain a mixture of many different ethnic groups, predominantly Tibetans, Dards, Monpas, Muslims. Before 6th August 1979, the Ladakh District was divided into Leh District (mostly occupied by Tibetan Buddhist) and Kargil District (mostly occupied by Shia Muslims). But Recent Ladakh is the Union Territory state of India. And Leh is the capital of Ladakh. There are two regions in Ladakh, they are Leh and Kargil.

Itinerary

Day 1 Leh (Arrival) :

aching at Leh Airport, our tour representative will meet you and assist you in smooth transfer to the hotel. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 2 Leh - visit Saboo Gompa and SOS Village (Choglamsar) :

Today morning after breakfast drive to Saboo, which is around 8 kilometers from Leh and nestled atop of a hillock facing the Indus Valley. It is the most visited monastery in Leh.
When you will come back to Leh visit the SOS village (Choglamsar). It is an important destination for those who are interested in studying Tibetan culture. The Central Institute of Buddhist Studies located here features a Tibetan library and handicraft shop, restaurants, and medical center. There is also a Polo Ground and Golf course.

Day 3 In Leh - Visit Takthok - Chemrey - Hemis Monasteries:

Today morning After Breakfast visit to Takthok Gompa. Built-in the 8th century by Guru Padmasambhava, Takthok Gompa is situated around the cave where he meditated.
Post your return from Takthok Gompa, set off to visit the Chemrey Gompa. Built under the patronage of Sengge Namgyal, the construction work of Chemrey Gompa was started in March 1644 A.D. and completed the 1646 A.D and this monastery is nestled atop of a small hill, whose one side is a dwelling of monks.
After that hit the road to Hemis Gompa, which crosses the Indus River at the Karu Village and Hamis Gompa built in the 17th century, between 1602 A.D. TO 1642 A.D., Hemis is one of the most famous monasteries in Ladakh. It is also known for the annual festival is called Hemis Tsechu. In the evening, return back to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay at Hotel.

Day 4 Leh - Phyang (30 mins) to Basgo (27 kms/45 mins) - Alchi (24 km / 45 mins) :

After breakfast, take a road journey to Alchi. On the way, you will visit a halt at Phyang Gompa, located on the main highway to Alchi. It is one of the most beautiful monasteries in Ladakh.
After sightseeing in the Phyang monastery, visit Basgo, which is located along the road to Alchi. When the kingdom of Ladakh got divided in the 15th and 16th centuries, the Basgo village was an important tourist center in medieval times.
In the afternoon, visit the Alchi Gompa. It is a temple complex located in the Alchi village and dates back to the 11th century and It exhibits a seamless blend of Indian and Kashmiri architecture. It is the seat of the Nagri Rimpoche and whose incarnation in embodied in the younger brother of the Dalai Lama. Stay overnight in the hotel.

Day5 Alchi - Ridzong to Lamayuru (57 km/2 hrs):

Today morning drive to Alchi to Lamayuru, pay a visit to Ridzong Gompa, one of the less-visited monasteries in Ladakh. Built sometime around 1840 and this Gompa is beautifully set in a valley, in a gorge and was founded by Lama Tsultim Nima.
After the exploration of Ridzong Gompa and proceed on a trip to the 11th century Lamayuru Monastery. There is a legend that the Arhat Madhyantika, a disciple of Buddha, offered holy food and water to satisfy the spirits inhabiting the Gompa. Stay overnight in the hotel.

Day6 Alchi - Ridzong to Lamayuru (57 km/2 hrs):

Today morning will drive back to Leh for lunch at the hotel. The afternoon is free for leisure. Stay overnight at the Leh hotel.

Day7 Leh :

Today morning you will be transferred to the airport for your onward journey.
