Shillong, the capital of Meghalaya, is the home to numerous waterfalls. The exciting mountain peaks, crystal clear lakes, breathtakingly beautiful golf courses, museums and the zoo are the key reasons why people visit Shillong. A beautiful city encircled by pine trees, Shillong is the capital of Meghalaya. It derives its name from Lei Shyllong, an idol worshipped at the Shillong Peak. Standing as tall as 1496 meters, Shillong provides a relief from the heat across the country. This hill station is known for its picturesque sights and traditions. The soothing climate makes Shillong suitable to visit in all seasons. The light drizzles and the cooling gentle wind adds to the joy of visiting this hill station. This place is also known as the ‘Scotland of the East’. One can find descendants of the Khyrim, Mylliem, Maharam, Mallaisohmat, Bhowal and Langrim tribes.
On arrival at Guwahati Airport/ Railway Station, you will meet and assist by our representative and drive to the hotel and overnight stay at the hotel.
After breakfast checkout from the hotel, you will drive to Mawlynnong, Dawki, and Cherrapunji. On the road to Mawlynnongyou will see the Elephant falls and Shillong peak, from where you can enjoy the panoramic view of the beautiful. And then you will drive to Mawlynnong, the cleanest village of Asia! There is also a beautiful suspension bridge over the river made by the British in 1932. In the evening you will move to the hotel, Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
After breakfast, you will drive to Cherrapunji which is the wettest place on the Earth. In the whole day sightseeing, you will cover all the beauties of Cherrapunji. In the evening you will move to Cheerapunji and overnight stay at the hotel.
After breakfast, you will drive to Kaziranga (370 KM,06-07 hours journey). You will enjoy the roadside views of Meghalaya and Assam and then overnight stay at the hotel.
After breakfast, you will go to the elephant safari inside Kaziranga National Park. After that, you will visit local places nearby such as Orchid Garden, Karbi Ethnic village, Assam’s heritage tea gardens, and Assamese villages and nearby beautiful spots. After that, you will visit the jeep safari of KNP in the afternoon. Overnight stay at the hotel.
After breakfast check out from the hotel and now ready to drive Guwahati (301 KM, 06-07 hours journey) our representative will drop you at the airport/railway station to catch onwards your flight & return back home with sweet memories of Shillong Holiday Tour.
