This place is also famous for its Jallianwala Bagh massacre and its proximity to Wagah Border. The satiating food and generous dollops of legendary Punjabi hospitality further connive to cast a spell upon the visitor. From the Operation Blue Star in the Golden Temple to the tragedy of the Jallianwala Bagh massacre, Amritsar has seen the worst of situations and yet emerged like a phoenix through testing times. Amritsar today is a thriving city with active trade and tourism industries. After breakfast proceeds to Ram Tirth Temple Located 11 Km west of Amritsar on Chogawan road date back to the period of Ramayana, Rishi Bairiki’s hermitage. A hut marks the sites where Mata Sita gave birth to Luv & Kush and also, still extant are Rishi Bairiki’s hut and the well with stairs where Mata Sita used to take her bath. The Bedis of Punjab (Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the founder Prophet of Sikhism was a Bedi) trace their descent from Kush and Sodhi's (the 10th Prophet of Sikhism, Guru Gobind Singh Ji was a Sodhi) from Luv. After breakfast proceed to Bhagwati Mandir Its history goes back to the 17th Century AD. The locality of the city in which this temple is located formed a part of a village, and then called Khanna. People from this village were the devotees of Jawala Mukhi temple in Kangra. Once, when Kamala Bhagat of this village and another holy person Kali Nath were proceeding towards the Jawala Mukhi temple, Bhagwati Mata, the deity of Jawala Mukhi appeared before them, almost two kilometers before their destination the moment they had lit fire to pray. After Breakfast proceeds to visit Shiv Mandir. It is said that the Nawab of Sultanpur Lodhi, in whose territory the city of Jalandhar then fell had eyed a newly married Hindu girl whom he had wanted to make an object of his lust. She was the devotee of Lord Shiva whose serpent saved her honor. Awed by the appearance of this serpent he had begged pardon from the girl and on her bidding he had got this temple built. The temple has an unusual architecture. Also, visit Sodal Mandir the temple of a child deity where wishes are fulfilled. Thousands of devotees congregate here during the month of September. After breakfast proceed to visit Panch Mandir was got built by the founder of the Kapurthala State. Visit Kali Devi Temple Situated in Patiala the Temple is built by the rulers of the Patiala State. Overnight stay at Patiala.
After breakfast, checkout from the hotel and drive to Patiala Railway station to take the train to your onward destination & return home with sweet memories.
