Tawang is a town in the Indian state of Arunachal Pradesh, that is situated at an elevation of approximately 3,048 meters to the east of Bhutan. The town once served as the district headquarters of the West Kameng district and it became the district headquarters of Tawang district when it was formed from West Kameng
Nameri National Park, Jai Bhoroli River, Eco camp
On the first day of the tour to Arunachal Pradesh, start your journey northwards, for the drive at Nameri, which is famous for its National Park. The evening can be spent at leisure with a walk near the river; overnight stay and dinner will in the eco-camp.
Toady morning, start the day with a Jungle Trek followed by breakfast. Post this; you will be leaving for Dirang. Upon arrival in the town, settle down and get acquainted with the local environs with the hamlet, the apple farms and the kiwi farms and the kiwi farms. A short to Dirang Dzong will offer you glimpses of the local life around; breakfast, dinner and overnight stay will be in Dirang.
From Dirang, you will go a 10km drive to the gorgeous Sangti Valley, a beautiful spot for mountain hiking and a prominent location to spot black cranes during the winters. Return to Dirang for an overnight stay.
On this day, you will be heading towards Tawang via the Sela Pass; one of the highest motorable roads in the world and is also sacred to the Buddhist. The pass is very close to the pristine Sela Lake, which is a definite stopover on this road journey before we head north to Tawang. The day will be spent by hiking the locale and visiting some of the cafes; overnight stay in Tawang.
After breakfast, you will be visiting the stunning Shonga-tser Lake and the Bum La Pass. After the tour of the lake, we will travel to Bum La Pass, which is located at 16,000ft and was used by Dalai Lama to escape from Tibet to India.
After these visits, head towards the fascinating Tawang Monastery and seek blessings from the Gods. The largest Buddhist monastery in India and the second largest in Asia, it dates back around 400 years and houses about 450 monks.
After early morning breakfast, visit the culturally rich Thembang village. Upon arrival at the hamlet, witness and get acquainted with the local life of the Monpa Tribe and know more about the diverse cultures and traditions; overnight stay in Thembang.
Today will be your last day of the Arunachal tour package! After having breakfast in Thembang, take an exciting drive through Bomdilla, Dirang, Bhalukpong to reach to Tezpur. Arriving at the town, relax and embark on a local walking tour to have a glimpse of the local life; overnight stay in Tezpur.
On the last day of your Arunachal Pradesh tour package, you will be driven towards Guwahati, the capital city of Assam and the hub of North-East India.
