There has been a long pending demand of the people of Ladakh and to give it the status of a Union Territory to enable them to realize their aspirations. The Union The territory of Ladakh will be without Legislature and Ladakh became a New Union Territory of India.
Ladakh is a mountainous region and the very coldest desert in the world.
In Ladakh, nature has rendered a magical, fantastic landscape and Most unbelievable and which is extremely breathtaking.
Ladakh lies in the north-east region of India and is surrounded by the world’s highest mountain ranges, Karakoram and Great Himalayas. The Ladakh district occupied China in the north and Kashmir in the west and Ladakh is an exotic and famous destination considered as the highest plateau lying at an altitude of 9, 800 ft. Ladakh is the 3rd province of Kashmir Valley. The population of Ladakh is about 2, 60,000 which contain a mixture of many different ethnic groups, predominantly Tibetans, Dards, Monpas, Muslims. Before 6th August 1979, the Ladakh District was divided into Leh District (mostly occupied by Tibetan Buddhist) and Kargil District (mostly occupied by Shia Muslims). But Recent Ladakh is the Union Territory state of India. And Leh is the capital of Ladakh. There are two regions in Ladakh, they are Leh and Kargil.
On arrival Delhi Railway station/Airport from there, you will meet and assist by our representative and now you will ready to “Hit the Queen of Hills”. Drive to Manali (12 to 14 hours’ journey). Traveling to Manali is very exciting as it covers a few popular travel destinations on the way on arrival at Manali check into hotel dinner & overnight stays at the hotel.
After breakfast proceeds to a local sightseeing tour, visit “Hidimbi Devi Temple” landmark of Manali, also known variously as the “Hadimba Temple”. It was built in 1553 and an enormous rock occupies the inside of the temple and it's only a 7.5 cm (3 inch) tall brass image representing goddess Hidimbi Devi. In Manali Local Visit Vashisth, Club House, Old Manali, Van Vihar, Manu Temple. Overnight stay at Manali Hotel.
Morning Breakfast in the hotel and we check out from the hotel and The abundance of greenery and trees dramatically disappears into arid landscapes as we ascend the steep mountains over Rohtang Pass. We can expect a few muddy tracks at times. Enroute view spectacular scenery of the Lahoul Valley all along the River Chandra. Upon arrival, check-in at our Hotel and Overnight stay at Camps.
Morning Breakfast in the hotel and we check out from the hotel and ride north on the Manali-Leh Highway. You will see some of the most breathtaking landscapes that the Western Himalayas can offer. The scenery gets more stark and barren as we climb up to the approx. 16,500-foot high Baralacha La the second Highest mountain pass on our journey. From the pass, beautiful views of Valleys and of meadows and snow-capped mountains can be seen. By early evening we reach the small hamlet of Sarchu with set on a large plateau. Upon arrival in Sarchu, we check into camp. Overnight stay at camps.
After breakfast today there is a drive almost 200 km journey full of beautiful landscapes on the way when you reach at tsokar 115 km and ahead 85 km is Tsomori-ri Lake. Tsomoriri is full of natural Landscaped which includes beautiful small lakes and Popular lake on the way and Mountains after this drive you reach to the Rupshu valley. Tsomori-ri is the Biggest Brackish water Lake which has no outlet. Overnight Camp.
Morning breakfast in the hotel come back to Leh passing Puga (Sulphur Mine), Tsokar Lake, Taklang La Pass 17,585ft and Rumtse. Overnight stay at Leh Hotel.
Morning Breakfast in the hotel drives to Alchi, 70 km west of Leh. On the way, we visit the famous Gurudwara Patthar Sahib, the Hall of Fame, The Magnetic Hill. We will visit Alchi Village and monastery. Alchi's large temple complex is founded in the 11th Century is regarded as one of the most important Buddhist Centres in Ladakh and a jewel of monastic skill. After Sightseeing of Alchi come back to Leh. Overnight stay at Leh Hotel.
Morning Breakfast drives to Nubra Valley. Leh to Nubra Valley passes over Khardung La (The Highest Motorable Road In The World) at 5,602 Mtrs / 18,380 Ft, around 39 km from Leh. Nubra Valley is known as Ldumra or the valley of flowers. It is situated in the north of Ladakh between the Ladakh and Karakoram ranges of the Himalayas. The average altitude of the valley is approx. 10,000 Ft. above sea level. Overnight Stay at Nubra Valley.
Morning Breakfast in the camps and drive to Hunder where you have opportunity to ride on a (double humped) Bactrian camel the sand dunes of this high altitude desert with snow-capped mountains on the horizon. Between Diskit and Hunder you come across sand dunes besides the road and seen in isolation you could well be amongst the sand dunes of the Thar Desert in Rajasthan. When you will come back to Nubra to Leh en-route return at Diskit which is the headquarter town of Nubra Valley. Diskit Monastery is famous for 515 years old Buddhist Monastery, lying magnificently situated on a hilltop, facing the entire Valley. After sightseeing of Nubra Come Back to Leh in the late afternoon via Khardungla Top. Overnight stay at Leh Hotel.
Morning Breakfast in the Hotel drive to Pangong lake via Agham village, and Shayok river and by evening reach at Pangong Lake situated at 13,930 feet. Enroute Visit 3 Idiots Rancho School & further 5 Kms Driving through a picturesque landscape we reach Thiksey an impressive complex rising tier upon tier on a hill above the village. And en route towards the Changla Pass 17,586 feet third highest motorable road in the world. The long easy ascent takes you will to Changla pass through its winding roads passing through Sakti Village. This famous Pangong Lake is 5/6 Kms wide and over 133 Kms long with half of it's running the other side of the "Indo China Border". You will feel close to nature and the environment and the scenery is unforgettable. Overnight stay at Pangong Lake at Camp.
Morning Breakfast at the Camps and come back to Leh Enroute visiting Hemis monastery, the largest monastic foundation of Drukpa Kagyu Order of Tibetan Buddhism. Overnight stay at Leh Hotel.
After breakfast, check-out form the hotel and get driven to Leh Airport for onward journey. The journey ends with Sweet Memories of Ladakh.
