Meghalaya, along with the neighboring Indian states, have been of archeological interest. People have lived here since Neolithic era. Here neolithic style jhum or shifting cultivation is practiced even today. The importance of Meghalaya is its possible role in human history through domestication of rice. Meghalaya is one of the Seven Sister States of northeast India.
On arrival at Guwahati airport You Will meet our representative Drive to Cherrapunjee. Enroute visit Umiam Lake (Barapani), Elephant Falls, Later Check-in at a Hotel. Overnight Stay at Hotel.
After breakfast You will proceed for local sightseeing
visit Nohkalikai Falls, Seven Sisters Fall. In the noon we process to Tyrna (village) and trek to the Double Decker Root Bridge (Nongriat) with a local Guide. Climb back 3000 steps to reach Tyrna village where your driver will be waiting to transfer you to Cherrapunjee. Overnight Stay at Hotel.
In the morning, after breakfast travel to Dawki Island, located in the magnificent Jaintia Hill, Umngot River passes by the village which makes it an attractive place to visit. Then travel back to Shillong. Overnight at Shillong. Optional Activities:- Boating, River Rafting, Kayaking, Cliff Jumping Etc.Overnight stay at hotel.
After breakfast Check-out from the hotel. our representative will drop you at Guwahati Airport / Railway station as per timings. The trip ends with sweet memories.
