Literally meaning a ‘hundred thousand islands’, Lakshadweep has few of the most beautiful and exotic islands and beaches of India.
Lakshadweep is typically accessed from Kochi (Kerala) and a permit is required to visit Lakshadweep for all tourists (including Indians). After permit, Indians are permitted to visit all islands, however, even after permit, foreigners are permitted to just visit Agatti, Bangaram and Kadmat Islands. Permits can be obtained from Kochi itself.
On arriving at the airport or railway station of Cochin, our tour representative helps you with an assisted transfer to the hotel. Complete the check-in formalities and embark on a sightseeing tour. The popular attractions in Cochin that you will visit today include Dutch Palace, St. Francis Church, Jewish Synagogue and Vasco House. Start our day tour by visiting Mattancherry Palace also known as Dutch Palace. This UNESCO World Heritage-listed palace is notable for Kerala Murals. This is a kind of wall-painting that depicts Hindu mythology and legends of kings of Kochi. From here, you will move to the St. Francis Church. This 15th-century church owns great historical significance which stands as a silent witness of the European colonial struggle in the subcontinent.
Next, visit Paradesi Synagogue, one of the oldest Jews Synagogue built-in 1568. Here, the Jews come to meet since the year it was constructed. This is followed by a stroll on the beach while visiting the popular Chinese Fishing Nets. While in Kerala, Chinese Fishing Nets are a must-visit. This is a fixed installation of fishing nets providing a unique method of fishing in the sea. Do not miss to marvel at the sunset views from here. Explore this cultural symbol of Kerala and visit popular markets for shopping before returning to your hotel. An overnight stay is arranged at the hotel.
In the morning, get transferred to the airport to board a flight to Agatti. Upon reaching the airport, get transferred to the hotel in Bangaram Island. The day is at leisure.
