Kila Raipur Sports Festival, popularly known as the Rural Olympics, is held annually in Kila Raipur (near Ludhiana), in Punjab, India. Competitions are held for major Punjabi rural sports, include cart-race, athletic events, and rope pulling.
In February each year, Ludhiana becomes the destination for hundreds of sports enthusiasts, including foreigners. They come to Kila Raipur to see the special breed of bullocks, camels, dogs, mules and other animals competing in competitive events. The most prestigious winners have attended. In the year of the Olympics 2008, Hakam and Naib Singh Dhaliwal from village Kalsian, Punjab took the 1st place prize. They also won first in gujjaral and phalewal. They are known in Punjab as the men who hold the greatest passion in the sport.
On arrival, Meet and Greet on arrival at Shri Guru Ram Dass International Airport, Amritsar / Railway Station meets and greets by our representative and drive to Amritsar, check-in to the hotel. Take some rest and enjoy the rest of the day in leisure. Overnight stay at the hotel.
After Breakfast, Start your tour with Golden. Also known as Harimandir Sahib (meaning Temple of God) is also commonly known as the Golden Temple or Darbar Sahib (Divine Court). It is situated in the city of Amritsar in Punjab. Then visit Jallianwala Bagh- where, on April 13, 1919, British and Gurkha soldiers opened fire on an unarmed forbidden gathering, killing hundreds of civilians. After lunch visit Maharaja Ranjit Singh Summer Palace Museum which is situated in the heart of Ram Bagh, Amritsar, Evening visit Indo-Pak Wagah Border to watch Flag Retreat Ceremony. Overnight Stay in a hotel.
After breakfast drive to a fair of Kila Raipur. In February each year, Ludhiana becomes the destination for hundreds of sports enthusiasts and foreigners. Enjoy the set of games like Athletics of tug of war, Cycle race, Hockey, Dog Race, etc. After enjoying the games festival. Drive back to hotel .overnight stay in a hotel in Ludhiana.
After breakfast, proceed to Kila Raipur games of the festival now you get an experience to watch games like 100mts-1500mts, High and Long jump, bullock cart race, Kabbadi, Shot Put, Mule cart race. Races between Horses and bullock carts were also held between tractors. Evening back to hotel overnight stay.
After breakfast, proceed to Kila Raipur games festival. Where else would you see activities like people lifting bicycles or pulling cars with their hair, ladders with their teeth or ears, and other daredevil stunts on bikes and horses? Each evening there’s a cultural feast with folk and Gidha singers, Bhangra, performers, which happens on all three days of the festival. Drive back to hotel .overnight stay in a hotel in Ludhiana.
After breakfast, drive to Amritsar/Ludhiana Railway Station or Airport for onward/Return Journey.
