The Kasol is a hamlet in the district Kullu, Himachal Pradesh, northern India. It was situated in Parvati Valley, on the banks of Parvati River, on the way between Bhuntar and Manikaran. It was located 30 km from Bhuntar and 3.5 km from Manikaran. The Kasol is a Himalayan hotspot for backpackers and acts as a base for nearby treks to Malana and Kheerganga. It is the called Mini Israel of India due to a high percentage of the Israeli tourists here. Kasol has good weather throughout of the year and receives a fair amount of snowfall from late December to February.
Manikaran- A major pilgrim center for Hindus and Sikhs situated at a distance of 10 km from Kasol. There’s also a hot water spring there which you can enjoy most in winter. A few things you may consider in Kasol are old Kasol, new Kasol, Kasol market, Parvati river. Kasol is almost 500 km from Delhi and 290 km from Chandigarh.
Malana is a tiny village shimmering snow-capped mountains of the Parvati Valley. The beautiful villagers here are not shy to pose for your camera although you’re not permitted to touch them or their belongings as they consider themselves as the true descendants of Alexander the Great.
After Breakfast, you have two options. One is to return back to Kasol and proceed towards Barshini which is Route.1 for Kheerganga. 2nd is to take a different trekking path from Tosh to Kheerganga where you will be trekking to Nakthan village. Kheerganga is 13 km uphill from Nakthan and it takes approximately 4-5 hours to reach. You will also witness many bridges and waterfalls along the way.

View of the first Sunrays on the snow-capped mountains in Kheerganga and breathing fresh cold air is truly majestic. Visit Lord Shiva Temple through a simple trail. Return to Kasol and don’t forget to capture the early morning experience of Kheerganga.
