And recent 6th August 2019 announcement by Amit Shah, Home Minister of India, “The Ladakh Division of the State of Jammu & Kashmir has a large area but is sparsely populated with very difficult terrain. There has been a long pending demand of the people of Ladakh and to give it the status of a Union Territory to enable them to realize their aspirations. The Union The territory of Ladakh will be without Legislature and Ladakh became a New Union Territory of India.
Ladakh is a mountainous region and the very coldest desert in the world.
In Ladakh, nature has rendered a magical, fantastic landscape and Most unbelievable and which is extremely breathtaking.
Ladakh lies in the north-east region of India and is surrounded by the world’s highest mountain ranges, Karakoram and Great Himalayas. The Ladakh district occupied China in the north and Kashmir in the west and Ladakh is an exotic and famous destination considered as the highest plateau lying at an altitude of 9, 800 ft. Ladakh is the 3rd province of Kashmir Valley. The population of Ladakh is about 2, 60,000 which contain a mixture of many different ethnic groups, predominantly Tibetans, Dards, Monpas, Muslims. Before 6th August 1979, the Ladakh District was divided into Leh District (mostly occupied by Tibetan Buddhist) and Kargil District (mostly occupied by Shia Muslims). But Recent Ladakh is the Union Territory state of India. And Leh is the capital of Ladakh. There are two regions in Ladakh, they are Leh and Kargil.
On arrival at Leh Airport, you will meet our representative and drive to Leh Ladakh. Then Check in to the hotel and take some rest and Freshen up the drive to Local Sightseeing Of Leh visit Leh Market. Dinner and Overnight stay at Leh Hotel.
In Morning After Breakfast drive to Stok Village and It is one of the best sites that you will visit once you have decided to trek this area of land. Trekking in Leh it could be considered by some people to be living their sweet dreams. At any point of time, you might just feel that you are right in the middle of heaven. This is a day when you will enjoy a great drive and have an enjoyable trekking experience in Leh.
Today starts with a drive to Stok village. At the start of the drive from Leh and you would go through many exotic and beautiful scenes. The drive to the Stok village is an adventurous and if full of natural beauty and lush green trees over there. The weather is perfectly fine for the summer season there. The Stok village lies immediately to the south of Leh Ladakh and it is well known for a royal palace. The recently crowned king of Ladakh lives over there in past times. There is also a small museum inside the palace which is so beautiful and religious artifacts.
Day 3 With three good days spent on acclimatization on day 4 and 5 you set off to Stok Kangri trekking.
The whole trekking passes through the barren grey landscape of Ladakh. From chang ma trek up to Mankorma trek, This day will show you the real beauty of ladhak and gives you the answer why ladhak known as coldest desert, while trekking you will cross the 2-3 times small streams and it is a fairly easy trek along with the river and you would love the Dinner and overnight stay in tents.
Overnight for both the days will be spent in tents only.
A few hours short trek takes you back to the base camp. This exotic base camp is a pleasurable place. It lies in a grassy area. This area has a number of water bodies in the form of lakes and water streams. During the day time, you can walk on the upper areas of the campsite and enjoy the views of the surroundings. There are some beautiful peaks like Parcha Kangri, Gulap Kangri, and many others. You can also take some rest in the base camp to make sure that the group is ready for the next day’s trek and touring. You will get time to acclimatize to the weather. This is pretty necessary because in the coming days, you would find a drastic change in the climate and might experience thin air and lack of oxygen.
The overnight stay will be arranged in tents and make sure that you have enough warm clothes for the lowering temperature.
This day is an easy day for trekkers. You will enjoy the time for going around and knowing the place to a much better extent and experience. It is essentially a day to train for the hard time upcoming trek and know the possibilities and challenges that are involved in it for you. Your trek leader and guide would let you know about all the different changes in the terrain over there.
You need adequate knowledge and experience to go around in the mountains. There might be situations for where you have to trek in the sinking snow. You would find your legs sinking up to your knees for the trek. Therefore it is essential that you know the weather and surrounding conditions over there. It is also a day when you would take enough rest so that you are well prepared for the upcoming excursion. The overnight stay would again be in tents with a tasty dinner. By now you should be well familiar to the conditions and prevailing during the day and night.
On day 6 Now that you have had rest for a day the Stok Kangri trek, you should be well prepared for the big climb over the Stok Kangri. You should wake up early to start the climb over there of the trek. The route goes through glaciers and then it comes to steep the slopes to the summit ridge. This is a long climb so you should be mentally strong and prepared psychologically strong aslo. It would take somewhere between 9 hours to 10 hours for average climbers. Slow climbers may take another 2 hours to 3 hours’ time in addition.
At the start of the trek after a couple of hours, you should be reaching the summit of the ridge. The summit offers you a great view of the area over there. The wide and open surroundings give you a royal feeling and feel so high. Towards the north, you will get a view of the Karakoram range. The Saser Kangri dominates the sky in the north along with the Zanskar, and the Karakoram ranges in the south. The Dinner and overnight stay, as usual, would be in tents.
Day 7 would be the ultimate day of your fantastic trekking experience. The trek which included high altitude of trekking mountaineering and expedition would finally come to the end after this day. Before you end the day, you would see a lot of snow-clad beauty and the memorable view of mountain ranges of Snow. The joy of Ladakh trekking will be rejuvenated from this spot only. As the day rise you would have to start coming back from Base camp of Leh.
The trek back could be difficult and hard you need to perform care and precision for yourself. On the same day after you reach Leh, you will also have to cover up to the Stok Village on your feet. Stok village is the final stopping point of the trekking. From Stok village to Leh Ladhak, you would have to take a drive and enjoy the journey. The drive may make you nostalgic of all the fun that you had while trekking the mountains in the last Seven days.
In Morning After breakfast, check-out from the hotel and get driven to Leh Airport for onward journey.
