Overview

Diu is a coastal town at the eastern end of Diu Island, India. A bridge connects the island to the state of Gujarat. Overlooking the Arabian Sea, Diu Fort, 16th-century Portuguese citadel, features a lighthouse and cannons. Inland, centuries-old St. Paul’s Church was built in elaborate baroque style. Nearby, whitewashed St. Thomas Church is now home to the Diu Museum, with wooden carvings & religious artifacts.

Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival At Ahmadabad

On arrival at Ahmadabad Airport/railway station from there, you will meet and assist by our representative and now you will ready to drive to the hotel. Check-in hotel & rest. After that, you will visit half day city tour of Ahmedabad visiting Gandhi Ashram, Calico Museum, Utensils Museum, the Jami Mosque, and Akshardham temple complex. Later back to hotel dinner & overnight stay.

Day 02: Ahmadabad – Modhera Sun Temple and Patan

After breakfast at the hotel, you will proceed on an excursion to the Sun Temple at Modhera that dates back to the early 11th century. Built-in 1026 AD by King Bhimdev of the Solanki dynasty, the relics at the sun temple is dedicated to the natural elements fire, air, earth, water and sky alongside the sculptures of many gods. On the way, you will visit Patan famous for Jain temples, one of the most important being the Mahavir Swami Derasar in Dhandherwad Also visit the Rani ki Vav (the Queen's Stepwell), an excellent example of a subterranean architecture of Gujarat. Dinner & overnight stay.

Day 03: Ahmadabad - Bhavnagar

After breakfast check out from hotel & proceeds to Bhavnagar (235 km 06 - 07 Hrs). On the way, you will visit the Lothal Harappan archaeological site. On arrival at Bhavnagar check in hotel. Evening free for leisure activities. Dinner & overnight stay.

Day 04: Bhavnagar – Palitana

After breakfast proceeds to visit the Palitana temples located on top of the Shatrunjay Hill. it is the largest cluster of Jain Temples. These temples ascend from the base of the hill to the top of the hill. Later back to hotel dinner & overnight stay.

Day 05: Bhavnagar – Sasan Gir

After breakfast, check out from the hotel & you will proceed to Sasan Gir (300 Kms 07 – 08 Hrs). On arrival at Sasan Gir check in hotel. Evening free for leisure activities. Dinner & overnight stay.

Day 06: Sasan Gir Sightseeing

After breakfast, you will proceed to visit the Gir Wildlife Sanctuary. It is located around 65 km to the southeast of Junagadh and covers an area of around 1,412 sq. km of lush deciduous forests, which comprises 258 sq. km as National Park and 1,154 sq. km as Sanctuary. Gir National Park was established in 1965 and is the last remaining abode of the endangered Asiatic Lions. Later you will visit Kamleshwar Dam Reservoir that presents a panoramic view of Gir hills and forest. Dinner & Overnight stay.
Note: The park is closed from 15th June to 15th October.

Day 07: Sasan Gir – Diu

After breakfast, check out from the hotel & you will proceed to Diu (130 Kms 03 – 04 Hrs). On arrival at Diu check in hotel. Evening free for leisure activities. Dinner & overnight stay.

Day 08: Diu Sightseeing

After breakfast, proceed to visit Nagoa Beach. Nagoa Beach is located in the Nagoa hamlet of the Bucharwada village. The beach is surrounded by dense groves of the unique Hoka-palm trees, which are found only on the island of Diu. Later, visit St. Paul's Church. Dedicated to Our Lady of Immaculate Conception, St. Paul Church. Named after St. Paul, the apostle of Jesus Christ, it resembles the Bom Jesus Church of Goa. The gigantic Church of St. Thomas, originally built in 1598, was converted into a museum in 1998. Today, known as the Diu Museum, it is a repository of important archaeological exhibits including antique statues, stone inscriptions, wooden carvings, idols, shadow-clocks, and several other important artifacts. Later, visit Diu Fort. Surrounded by the sea on the three sides, the Diu Fort is an imposing structure that dominates the towns and offers a magnificent view of the sea. The fort with its double moat, cannons, stone cisterns, chapels and barracks were known to provide a strategic vantage point against enemy attacks. Dinner & Overnight in stay Diu.

Day 09: Diu – Departure

After breakfast check out from the hotel and now our representative will drop you at Diu airport/railway station to catch onwards your flight & return home with Sweet memories of Diu Holiday Tour.
