The Kaziranga National Park is a protected area in the northeast Indian state of Assam. This Spread across the floodplains of the Brahmaputra River, its forests, wetlands, and grasslands are home to tigers, elephants and the world’s largest population of Indian one-horned rhinoceroses. Ganges River dolphins swim in the park’s waters. It is visited by many of rare migratory birds, and gray pelicans roost near the Kaziranga village.
Pick-up from Railway Station & straight to Shillong Transfer - It is approximately 100 kilometres in 2.5 hours drive - En route visit: Borapani Umiam Lake, Located about 17 kilometres from Shillong, Umium Lake, surrounded by beautiful hills. Dinner and overnight in hotel at Shillong
Early Morning breakfast - Next drive to Cherrapunjee - It is approximately 60 Kilometres i.e. 02 - 2½ hours drive-by car - Currently the historical name Sohra is more commonly used is a subdivisional town in the East Khasi Hills in Meghalaya - It is credited as being the wettest place on Earth, although nearby Mawsynram currently holds that record - Cherrapunjee possesses some exotic waterfalls and impressive limestone caves - Visit Visit Dwan Syiem view point, Noh kali kai falls, Mawsmai caves, Seven Sister falls, Eco park etc - Later after lunch back to Shillong drive back to Shillong - On the way visit to Shillong Peak & Elephant Falls - Return to The Hotel / Resort - Evening if time permits visit local market (Police Bazar) - Night stay at Shillong
Early Morning breakfast - Next one will start for Kaziranga - The road distance between Shillong to Kaziranga is 325 kilometres and is nearly 06 hours to 07 hours by road - Kaziranga National Park has been granted maximum protection under the Indian law for wildlife conservation - The sanctuary, which hosts two-thirds of the world's great one-horned rhinoceroses and is a World Heritage Site - Located on the edge of the Eastern Himalaya biodiversity hotspot, the park combines high species diversity and visibility - - Overnight stay at Kaziranga Hotel.
Early morning explore any one zone of Kaziranga National Park on back of Elephant - (Elephant riding time: 1st Ride- 5.15-6.15 AM; 2nd ride: 6.30-7.30 AM)- Apart from the Rhino, other species found are Hog Deer, Swamp Deer, Wild Buffalo, Elephants and if you are lucky one can spot the tiger also - It is also home to pelicans, storks and darters as there are a number of water bodies inside the Park - Return to the resort for breakfast - After breakfast, visit Assamese Village, Craft Centre etc - After lunch Jeep Safari in Central ranges of the park - Return to the hotel/resort - Evening stroll around the local area - Overnight stay at Kaziranga
Early morning observing the wildlife, including birding, is the main visitor activity in and around the park and Harmoti for wildlife viewing - Early morning enjoy the elephant safari - Back to Resort/hotel and have breakfast - After breakfast, visit Assamese Village, Craft Centre etc - After lunch Jeep Safari in one of the ranges of the park - Next drive back to Guwahati - It is approximately 220 kilometres and is nearly 05 hours drive - Reach Guwahati hotel/resort & Check-In - Evening free to visit the local market area - Overnight at Guwahati
